Paul Krugman has an excellent op-ed today that covers much of the same ground that Instapundit did a couple days ago.

The best part of Krugman's op-ed has to be the title - what a truly great phrase. In response to Instapundit's post, I had compared credit card company practices to the practice of slavery. But Krugman one-uped me here - Debt-Peonage captures the concept much better.

And of course, I am in total and complete agreement with Krugman's conclusion:
"And any senator who votes for the [bankruptcy] bill should be ashamed."
And they should not be reelected.
